Pre-registration has closed, but that doesn’t matter! Register when you show up! We’ll see you there!


The Spring 2016 NRO will be held in Massachusetts this May 20, 21 and 22, 2016. Boston Grotto is putting on the show.

Location: The Spring 2016 NRO will be held at Historic Valley Campground, just outside historic North Adams, MA.

Registration & cool stuff prices:

Registration: $11 per adult; $6 for under 12 years of age
Camping: $6.50 per night for camping; $30-35 per camper/hookup site
Day passes (if not camping): $5.00 per day
Guidebook: $6.00 for a covered, bound and professionally printed guidebook; approx 50 pages, based upon a heavily updated 2013 Guidebook. Fresh for 2016 Spring NRO!
T-Shirts: $12 per t-shirt; $13 for XL and above
Saturday Breakfast: $5, Rockin’ Hearty Oatmeal, ($3 for children under 12) – Hosted by Boston Grotto
Saturday Dinner: $12 ($8 for children under 12) – Hosted by Boston Grotto
Sunday Breakfast: $7, pancakes & sides, tentative – Hosted by Vermont Cavers’ Association

Caving trip details:: There will be led and unled trips. Details will be posted about a week prior to NRO, and available for sign-up at the NRO registration table. If you would like to lead a trip, please get in touch through the Contact Us form.


Speleobooks will be on-site!

Area Attractions:


Boston Grotto will be providing Saturday dinner. Dinner menu includes homemade noodles with chicken sausage & paprika sauce (vegetarian version available); salad, desert.

Friday Evening Events:

Arrivals, campfire, no official meals served.

If you have an instrument, bring it along – we’ll jam Friday evening!

Saturday Daytime Events:

Caving Trips – Led and unled trips; a limited number of loaner helmets will be available through the Boston Grotto for a reasonable rate.
Caving Fun – Squeeze box on-site; climbing practice on-site!
Sports – Kayak and canoes will be available for rental

Saturday Evening Events:

Auction – Please bring stuff to auction!
Music – Rhythm and blues with The Hank Walther Duo
